LOGAN – As part of Logan’s Center Street Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 29, city officials are offering youngsters the opportunity to skate with Santa’s Elves.

That unique event is slated for 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the ice rink in the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza in downtown Logan.

Officials of the Logan Parks & Recreation Department are urging local youngster and their parents not to miss this festive event.

The “Skating with Santa’s Elves” event will be just one of many festivities taking place on Center Street and other downtown Logan locations on Nov. 29 as local officials and businesses welcome the start of the Christmas season.

Those festivities will begin at noon and continue throughout the day.

At 5:30 p.m., Santa Claus will officially arrive in Logan, wrapping up the Twinkle Light Parade from 200 West Center Street to the Center Street Arch Street.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Center Street will take place at 5:50 p.m., following by a fireworks display that will be visible from both Laub Plaza and Center Street.

Starting at noon, the Ice Rink at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza will be open for skating sessions at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

But officials remind residents that Santa’s Elves will only be skating with youngsters during 90-minute skating sessions that begin at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The Carol and Jim Laub Plaza is located at 55 North Main Street in downtown Logan.
