December 5, 1931 — March 16, 2024 (age 92)

Roma Dee Nelson was born in Logan, Utah on December 5, 1931 and died on March 16, 2024.  She attended school in Cache Valley and graduated from South Cache High School as the valedictorian of her class.  Shortly after graduation she married Robert Nelson. They were married for 64 years before he passed away in 2013.

Bob and Roma lived in Logan before moving to North Las Vegas in 1959. They had 7 children. Robert M, Kathyrn, Linda, Randy, Kristi, Becky and Patty.

They had the opportunity to live in and explore several cities across the country. They spent several years in Northern California before moving to Phoenix, Arizona which is where Bob retired.

After retiring, Bob and Roma were excited to move back to Logan. They bought a home that needed some remodeling and Bob enjoyed building and improving their home until it was just what they wanted. They lived in that home for over 30 years.

In her younger years Roma enjoyed playing Softball and played on many church teams.  She also enjoyed making quilts, creating ceramics, and especially loved family history and researching ancestors.

Roma was a gardener and had the magic touch when it came to growing flowers and plants. She enjoyed having plants that were unique to the area and that took special care. Her homes were always surrounded by flowers and beautiful greenery.

Roma loved to travel and explore the area wherever they lived.  They explored mountains, beaches, and many other attractions always getting to know the area in which they lived.

Before Bob passed away, they spent many hours together driving in Logan and Blacksmith Fork canyons looking for wildlife and enjoying the scenery. This is something that Roma continued after Bob passed away and when any of her children or grandchildren would visit, it continued to be tradition to take a drive up the canyon.

Roma loved her family and friends! She loved talking to them on the phone and having them visit her. She made friends wherever she went, and so many people have commented on how much she touched their lives, and what a great friend she was.

Roma has been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints her entire life. She has had many callings in the church and was willing to serve wherever she was called.

A visitation to honor Roma will be held on March 22, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the White Pine Funeral Home: 753 S. 100 E. in Logan.

She will be buried in the Logan Cemetery next to her husband.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at White Pine Funeral Home.
