NORTH LOGAN — The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation announced $261,000 in community and environmental grants this month, with funding directed to 51 organizations across Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.
“This latest round of funding reflects a steadfast commitment to fostering resilient communities and protecting our natural landscapes,” said Dick Garlish, the foundation’s director and president of Rocky Mountain Power. “These organizations lift up our communities and protect our natural surroundings for future generations.”
Grants will support affordable housing, workforce training, ecosystem conservation, outdoor education and community revitalization projects.
In Utah, recipients included groups in Summit, Salt Lake, Utah, Weber, Washington, Grand, Sanpete, Carbon and Emery counties. Cache County organizations also benefited, with funding awarded to the Bridgerland Community Ice Arena (more commonly known as the George S. Eccles Ice Arena) in North Logan and the Utah State University College of Engineering.
Idaho recipients included Boise State University Foundation, Butte County Fair Board and Friday Night Flag. In Wyoming, grants supported public libraries, recreation districts and senior centers in communities such as Casper, Glenrock, Green River and Worland.
The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation distributes grants quarterly, with this cycle aimed at community enhancement and environmental initiatives.
