RICHMOND — The Cache Community Food Pantry is receiving a $20,000 boost from The Campbell’s Company and The Campbell’s Foundation, which recently awarded $920,000 in Community Impact Grants to 46 nonprofit organizations across North America.
The pantry, which serves individuals and families throughout Cache Valley, was nominated by employees of the Pepperidge Farm plant in Richmond. The funding will support efforts to alleviate food insecurity, promote healthy living and strengthen neighborhood connections. Specifically, the pantry plans to use the funds to purchase adjacent property, alleviating current parking constraints and allowing for future growth.
“Campbell’s is committed to making a positive impact in the communities we call home,” said Kate Barrett, president of The Campbell’s Foundation. “The Community Impact Grants program gives our employees a voice in supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact in the communities where they live and work.”
The Community Impact Grants are part of Campbell’s broader philanthropic commitment. In the current fiscal year, the foundation has contributed more than $2.6 million in grants to programs focused on food access, nutrition education, community gardens and revitalization efforts.
The Cache Community Food Pantry also recently received a $6,250 grant from D.L. Evans Bank.
Founded in 1953, The Campbell’s Foundation supports community-driven initiatives through direct giving, matching employee donations, and partnerships with local nonprofits. Grant recipients are selected through nominations from employees based in Campbell’s locations throughout the United States and Canada.
