EDEN – Powder Mountain celebrated a milestone on New Year’s Eve with the opening of its first new lift in a decade. The Lightning Ridge lift, a Skytrac fixed-grip quad, began serving the resort’s expert-only terrain for skiers and snowboarders eager to take advantage of 34 inches of fresh snow that has fallen over the past week.
Lightning Ridge accesses some of the mountain’s most technical and advanced terrain, promising an elevated experience for seasoned riders. The new lift also enhances connectivity across Powder Mountain, linking the Sundown base area with the rest of the resort.
This debut marks the first of three new public lifts opening at Powder Mountain this season. The resort also replaced its Timberline and Paradise lifts over the summer, further expanding its offerings for visitors.
With its commitment to improving access to its challenging terrain, Powder Mountain has been undergoing several changes and upgrades over the past few seasons.
The resort is located almost entirely in Cache County, but is only accessed by Weber County.
