TREMONTON – It’s that time of year again, Post Consumer Brands in Tremonton is holding its annual sale to benefit the United Way. This year’s sale will be on Saturday, Sept. 28, starting at 7 a.m. at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds building #3.
Heather Crockett, community engagement director for United Way of Box Elder County, said the cereal sale is really a big deal.
“A lot of people spend the night just to get the boxes of cereal they want,” she said. “We sell out of cereal in a couple of hours.”
Post Consumer Brands donates the cereal to the United Way and then they turn around and sell it at the county fairgrounds in Tremonton. There will be a 50 bag/box per person limit.
“It’s crazy how many people will bring family members and line up to get as much cereal as they can,” Crockett said. “It’s fast and furious.”
For some 16 years the Post and United Way of Northern Utah cereal sale has been huge in the Bear River Valley area. There are more than 15,000 packages of cereal ready to be grabbed and purchased for $1.50 per box or bag.
All funds generated by the sale will benefit the United Way of Box Elder County and the entire community.
Some of the beneficiaries of Post’s donations include:
- Tremonton Food Pantry
- Brigham City Food Pantry
- Acts Six Soup Kitchen
- Oneida Crisis Center
- Boys & Girls Club
- Family Support Center
Post Consumer Brands has been a longtime supporter of the community where their employees live and work. The United Way of Northern Utah appreciates the donations and recognizes the impact the sale will have on the local nonprofits and the community members they serve.
It’s the cereal company’s goal to both feed families across North America and support the communities where employees live and work.
