Cache County Executive Craig Buttars says he feels the 2016 Cache County Fair and Rodeo was a great success with one of the largest number of people ever attending the event.

Now Buttars says it is time to concentrate on a new building with construction scheduled to start immediately following next year’s fair.

“Initially, we had thought we would move (Utah State University) Extension into that building,” Buttars explains. “But it looks like now we have decided that is not a really a good fit.

“We will have some office space and some smaller conference rooms in the building. That is what we are having our architect draw into the building so we will have a better idea of what it is going to cost.”

Buttars says the county’s fair board is going to be expanded and he wants to see more citizen involvement in the future of the fairgrounds and the annual fair.
