LOGAN – The next attraction in the parade of touring acts coming to the Ellen Eccles Theatre here will be “An Evening with David Sedaris.”

The noted author and satirist will appear at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Sedaris will read from his latest novel Happy-Go-Lucky and conduct a live question and answer session with the audience.

A selection of Sedaris’ previous writings will be on sale in the lobby of the Eccles Theatre, which the author will be available to sign after the show.

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. He is the master of satire and one of today’s most observant writers addressing the human condition.

Best known for his contributions to “The New Yorker” magazine and the British Broadcasting Company, Sedaris writes in a style both autobiographical and self-deprecating. He mostly ruminates on family life; his middle-class, suburban upbringing; homosexuality; drug use; and obsessive behaviors.

Several of his books have earned places on national bestseller lists, including CalypsoNakedMe Talk Pretty One Day; and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim.

Sedaris latest book — Happy-Go-Lucky — was published in May 2024 by Little, Brown and Company.

“An Evening with David Sedaris” is being sponsored by the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, with an assist from Utah Public Radio.

Tickets for the Sedaris appearance are now available at the CacheARTS Ticket Office or online at https://www.cachearts.org

The Cache Valley Center for the Arts is an independent, non-profit organization. Its goal is to facilitate the best use of publicly owned facilities here in Logan, including the Ellen Eccles Theatre, the Thatcher-Young Mansion and the Bullen Center.
