North Logan Mayor Lyndsay Peterson talks with Jason Williams on KVNU’s For the People on 5/2/2022

NORTH LOGAN — She’s only been in office a few months, but North Logan Mayor Lyndsay Peterson said she’s been busy

“It is work but it’s really exciting, it’s been a whirlwind since I took office. But I think the great thing is that we’re accomplishing a lot. In just the four months that I’ve been in office, I can point to actual progress that we’ve made on a number of issues, and North Logan’s just a great place to be,” she said.

On KVNU’s For the People program on Monday, Peterson said there have been some circumstantial surprises to deal with, such as the trash issue with Logan city wanting to revisit its contract for waste collection for Cache County.

“For me personally, I had been in office for only a month, and suddenly this is something that I’ve got to take on, so we’ve been meeting as mayors, I think we’re in a good spot right now. And I think that there’s an opportunity, now that we’ve had some time to let that sink in, I think there’s an opportunity to provide a different trash removal set-up. I can’t believe how much I’m talking about trash these days(laughs)”

Peterson said she’s actually now excited about trash removal. She said what’s great  about North Logan is the city staff they have, who think long term and are invested in the city.
