North Logan Recreation director Jesse Howe talks to Jason Williams, host of KVNU’s For the People program on Thursday.

NORTH LOGAN — It seems like there is always something going on in North Logan. On KVNU’s For the People program on Thursday, North Logan Recreation director Jesse Howe highlighted some events happening soon, including a Health and Wellness Fair on March 25-th from 6p.m. to 8p.m. in the RSL building.

Howe said over 40 vendors will be there along with games for the kids.

“We’ve got people like The Family Place coming, Footzoner, we’ve got Citrus Pear coming, talking about nutrition and freezer meals, Nutrishop. Somebody’s going to bring a 3-D body scan, so come and get that checked out, Fire Department. Our own Parks department is going to come and talk about trails and things like that. We’ve just got a ton of people coming,” he explained.

Howe said the fair will be an educational experience and a recent addition is a course on how to “Help Build Confidence in Girls”. He said outdoor recreation is a focus for the city.

“A lot of time with the process of coming up with new ideas is, we always keep trying  to be (innovative), and always try to do something new or change a little bit of our activities…to try to make it more interesting, keep kids attentions especially in our sports aspect. A lot of times we’ll get together and we’ll come up with some ideas or we’ll search other cities, which is kind of surprising, plagiarism I guess you could say(laughs)”

He said next week they’ll have a conference in St. George where they discuss new ideas with recreation people from throughout Utah and he expects to get more recreation ideas from that. You can get more information on what’s going on at NorthLoganCity.org.
