LOGAN – Northern Utah residents are gearing up for the fourth annual Best of Northern Utah contest, a highly anticipated event that celebrates excellence across various sectors in the region. Nominations for outstanding businesses and organizations opens at 12 noon on Wednesday, Feb. 21 and must be submitted by March 6th at 5 p.m. local time.
The Best of Northern Utah competition, presented by Kater Shop, aims to recognize the top establishments and individuals throughout Northern Utah and encompasses a wide range of categories including restaurants, bars, hair salons, fitness studios, and more.
With the constant emergence of new businesses and attractions, competition is expected to be fierce.
Kent Frandsen, President and CEO of Cache Valley Media Group, expressed excitement about the partnership with Elite Insights for the fourth consecutive year to make the contest a success for all involved.
“Partnering with a third-party provider like Elite Insights allows us to keep people’s personal information secure, prevent fraudulent voting, and operate a legitimate contest that celebrates the best people and businesses in our area. We’ve been extremely impressed with their track record over the first three years of this contest and look forward to more great things to come,” Frandsen stated.
Enhancements to the contest’s website aim to streamline the nomination and voting process, making it easier than ever for participants to engage. Nominations can be submitted through the Best of Northern Utah website, with individuals encouraged to nominate as many businesses or individuals as they desire, accompanied by valid reasons for their choices.
Following the closure of nominations on March 6th, the contest will enter its second phase where top nominees in each category will be shortlisted for a public vote. This phase is expected to spark intense competition, with businesses and individuals rallying their supporters to secure victory.
“As much as businesses love the ability to show why they’re the best, it has been the community who really loves the chance to let their voice be heard,” Frandsen remarked. “Giving the community a voice to express their opinions about local establishments throughout our area has been really rewarding.”
Winners will be announced online and broadcasted across Cache Valley Media Group’s family of radio stations. Additionally, winners will receive awards and recognition for their dedication and hard work. To further celebrate their achievements, 15,000 high-gloss magazines showcasing all Gold and Silver winners will be produced and distributed throughout the community free of charge.
“These magazines have established themselves as the definitive local reference guide for new residents to the area and families who have made Northern Utah their home for generations,” Frandsen noted. “This contest hits really close to home for us as a small, family-owned business ourselves in Northern Utah. It is our duty to showcase the small business community and celebrate the successes of our friends and neighbors who make our community unique.”
