LOGAN — A motorcyclist had to be flown to a hospital with severe injuries after crashing in Logan Canyon, US-89. The accident occurred Wednesday near the Dugway.
Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cade Brenchley said preliminary information showed the man was riding the motorcycle when he allegedly lost control. No other vehicles were involved.
Investigators suspect speed may have been a factor in the crash. Witnesses told troopers it appeared the motorcyclist was travelling at a high rate of speed.
The man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, explained Brenchley. He was flown by medical helicopter to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.
Troopers had to temporarily close a section of the highway to allow the helicopter to land on the roadway.
Brenchley said, “Troopers are seeing an increase in motorcycle crashes this year due to speed. Today’s crash is another reminder to slow down.”
