LOGAN — On Thursdays during the first hour of KVNU’s For the People program, the focus is on local theatre and musicals with Cache Valley Daily’s Charlie Schill  joining host Jason Williams.
This past week, they were joined again by Gavin Syme, director of marketing and media for Cache Arts about what they have coming up on the calendar. He said be prepared to laugh on Wednesday night.

We have our Valentines Day Comedy Night, we did it last year, and we’re doing it again this year. It’s kind of a fun way to go into the holiday with not a whole lot of pressure, right? ‘Hey we’re going to go see a comedy show, we’re going to laugh together and just have a nice time.,’” said Syme.

The night features Debra DiGiovanni, named Canada’s favorite female comic, along with Kevin Bozeman, who was a semi-finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010.

One week later, February 21st, it’s the music of Abba with Swedish tribute band ARRIVAL from Sweden. Tickets for that are going quickly, but a few extra tickets are up for grabs through a scavenger hunt.

“The morning of Valentine’s Day there will be five exclusive Arrival from Sweden: the music of Abba posters put up at different businesses around downtown. If you see it, grab it, or ask an employee to grab it for you and bring it back to me at the (Ellen)Eccles theatre, and you’ll get two free tickets, orchestra seats, great seats, tickets to go see this on the 21st.”

Syme said he will be posting hints on Cache Arts social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

Arrival from Sweden is not the only tribute band on its way to town.  Carpenters Platinum – A Tribute to the Carpenters returns to the Ellen Eccles Theatre on March 29th.

Then the next night it’s Fleetwood Visions – A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac on March 30th.  You can get more information at CacheArts.org.
