LOGAN — A 30-year-old Midvale man has been arrested and charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Cache Valley, according to police. Jesse Bautista was booked into the Cache County Jail on Monday, March 25, after a judge previously issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to the warrant affidavit, North Park Police officers received a report from the alleged victim, claiming she had been molested in January 2022. The woman explained how she had taken sleeping medication and later woke up to find Bautista fondling her.

Police officers questioned Bautista during the investigation. He reportedly admitted to “groping” the woman on several occasions.

Bautista made an initial appearance Monday in Logan’s 1st District Court. He was charged with two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

According to jail records, Bautista was released on pretrial supervision after a judge recalled the arrest warrant. He could face more than 15 years in prison, if convicted.
