BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho — A 31-year-old McCammon man died Friday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a guardrail on Interstate 15 south of Pocatello.

The Idaho State Police responded to the crash at 2:51 p.m. near milepost 67 on the northbound side of the interstate. Investigators said the man was riding a 2021 Indian Chieftain motorcycle when he lost control for unknown reasons, struck the guardrail and came to rest on the right shoulder.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity has not been released yet, pending notification of family.

Northbound I-15 was closed for approximately two and a half hours while emergency crews responded. The Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the crash with assistance from several local agencies, including the Pocatello Fire and Police departments and the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office.
