Despite the performance, Ukraine lost its opening game 98-86 in overtime to the Czech Republic.

Shulga was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line, sinking a pair from the charity stripe with less than 25 seconds to play to cement the win for Ukraine.

Shulga was held to single digits for the first time in the tournament in Ukraine’s 89-58 loss to Spain in the final contest in pool play, turning in six points and adding four assists and one rebound.

Ukraine’s opponent, Turkey, went 2-1 in pool play, beating Germany (66-65) and Poland (54-53) by one point apiece and losing to host Montenegro, 77-70.
