BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho — A man was hospitalized Saturday night after crashing his vehicle into a parked train near Downey.

Idaho State Police officers report that they were dispatched to the area of Highway 91 and State Highway 40 just before 9:15 p.m. on April 20 on reports of an auto vs. train collision.

Police said a 54-year-old man from Downey was traveling eastbound on State Highway 40 in a Chevy Silverado when he failed to yield at a stop sign and struck the parked train.

The man was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. While no details were provided on the extent of his injuries, officers said it is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Idaho State Police are working to investigate this incident and determine the cause of the crash.
