LOGAN — A College Ward man was accidentally stabbed during a family dispute at his home, Tuesday afternoon.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said the man’s 16-year-old daughter was threatening family members with a kitchen knife, when the man attempted to restrain her. He reportedly put the knife in his shirt pocket, after taking it from her and was stabbed as he continued trying to detain her.

The man was transported to the hospital. Peterson said the injury was not life-threatening and appears to be accidental.

The girl was taken into custody for questioning and evaluation. An investigation is continuing.
