LOGAN — A 25-year-old Logan man already convicted of possessing child pornography has been arrested again for downloading child sexual abuse material, according to law enforcement. Tyler James Blessing was booked Nov. 4 into the Cache County Jail after probation agents found images of child pornography on his laptop.
According to an arrest affidavit, Adult Probation and Parole agents were conducting “pre-Halloween” checks, when they visited Blessing’s trailer home in south Logan. He reportedly is on felony probation out of Texas for possession of child sexual abuse material.
During the agent’s visit, they noticed a laptop computer appeared to be concealed in a couch. When they opened it, several images of suspected child pornography were located in the downloads folder.
Agents obtained a warrant to seize the laptop, court records describe.
Monday, a detective with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force searched the computer and located more than 10 images of child sexual abuse material. The pictures were of kids between 4 and 12-years-old, engaged in lude sexual acts, the probable cause statement detailed.
According to court records, Blessing was arraigned Nov. 6 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He was charged with 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
Prosecutors requested Blessing be held in jail without bail. They claimed he was a potential flight risk and could possibly flee back to Texas.
Judge Brian Cannell ordered Blessing to be temporarily held in jail. He ordered Blessing to appear again in court Nov. 18.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
