NORTH LOGAN-For The Rocky Mountain Veteran Center (RMVC) and Thermo-Fisher Scientific are hosting an Open House and Hot Dog Bar on Veterans Day, Monday November 11, to celebrate Veteran’s Day from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the RMVC, located at 1760 N. 200 E. in North Logan.
RMVC wants to invite the public to join them and enjoy hot dogs, brats, drinks, with all the trimmings. “Music by Marlys” will provide the entertainment. Several RMVC partners will be available to answer questions on home health care, housing, and employment opportunities.
The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs and the Bear River Association of Governments will have Veterans Service Officers available to assist Veterans in filing benefit claims and answering questions.
Utah’s Veteran population are older than the general population. Almost 30percent of our Veterans served in the Vietnam Era (August 1964 to April 1975).
Most Americans in the post-9/11 era had feelings of pride and gratitude for Veterans and the Armed Forces Research according to the PEW Research Institute.
At the same time, today most Americans acknowledge they know little about the realities of military service or the problems faced by those in the military or their sacrifices.
Most Americans are also glad people are willing to serve in the military, but would discourage family members from enlisting.
The local veterans organization would like people to enjoy time with people that have sacrificed for their country.
We encourage all to attend to commemorate Veterans Day and honor those who have served.
