LOGAN — Law enforcement is asking for the public’s help, identifying a vehicle involved in a possible kidnapping attempt, Tuesday morning near Logan High School.
Logan City Police Capt. Curtis Hooley said 911 dispatch operators received a call around 7:50 a.m. reporting a male had just tried to kidnap a woman near 300 S. 150 W. The suspect was unsuccessful and drove off westbound from the scene.
Several photos of the vehicle show it to be a Honda Civic, gray in color. No license plate number was observed.
Hooley said the victim, a woman in her 30’s, was punched in the face after a brief struggle, but is otherwise in good physical condition. Paramedics were called to the scene and treated her for a cut below her eye. She did not have to be hospitalized.
The alleged victim told officers, the suspect was wearing black clothing and a face mask.
Hooley said the suspect’s age, height, weight, or ethnicity is unknown.
There were reportedly several witnesses to the assault. They and the victim were interviewed by investigators. Footage of the suspect’s car was located from nearby cameras and police are asking for assistance, identifying the possible suspect.
Hooley explained that the car is believed to be a 2005 to 2010 Honda Civic, gray or silver in color. There are no other known identifying characteristics currently.
