LOGAN  — Officials in Logan have announced a modified schedule for Logan City services and facilities during the upcoming New Year’s holiday.

All city offices will be closed on New Year’s Day (Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026).

Residential garbage and recycling will not be collected as usual on Jan. 1, according to a Logan Public Works spokesperson. 

Regular Thursday garbage routes will be collected on Friday, Jan. 2. Residents on those routes are asked to please have their containers at the curb by 7 a.m. and to leave containers out at the curb until they are collected.

The city landfill will also closed New Year’s Day, with normal hours resuming on Friday, Jan. 2.

The Logan River Golf Course will also be closed on Jan. 1, along with the City’s Cemetery Office.

The Logan Library will close at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, Dec. 31) and remain closed throughout the day on Jan. 1. The library will resume its normal hours on Friday, Jan. 2.

The Logan Community Recreation Center will not operate on New Year’s Day, but will resume normal hours on Friday, Jan. 2.

In contrast, the ice skating rink at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza in downtown Logan will be open for reduced hours on New Year Eve (Wednesday, Dec. 31) and resume normal hours on Jan. 1.

On New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, Dec. 31), skating sessions will be held at the Ice Rink from noon to 1:30 p.m.; 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and 4 to 5:30 p.m. only.

During the period of New Year’s Day through the following Saturday (Jan. 1 to Jan. 3), the Ice Rink will resume its normal hours with skating sessions from noon to 1:30 p.m.; 2 to 3:30 p.m.; 4 to 5:30 p.m.; 6 to 7:30 p.m.; and 8 to 9:30 p.m.
