LOGAN — A 46-year-old Logan man has confessed to peering into a woman’s window while she was taking a shower. Jose Atilio Ramos is currently out of jail on bail after being arrested in August.
According to court records, Ramos appeared Jan. 13 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He pleaded guilty to voyeurism, a class A misdemeanor; and lewdness, a class B misdemeanor. As part of the plea agreement, one remaining charge was dismissed.
According to prosecutors, Logan City Police were called to an apartment complex Aug. 30, on report of a man peeping into a woman’s window. He then opened the window, supposedly to try and get a better view.
The woman told officers she was taking a shower in her bathroom, when she saw the suspect peeking through and opening the window. The man had reportedly pulled his pants down and was inappropriately touching himself.
When police arrived, they made contact with Ramos, who still had his pants down.
Ramos was booked temporarily into the Cache County Jail, before being released on $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to be sentenced Mar. 3, and could face more than one year in jail.
