LOGAN — A 31-year-old Utah County man has confessed to driving to Logan to try and rape a 9-year-old girl. Victor Dionicio-Narcizo has been in the Cache County Jail since July 29, after arriving at a prearranged location and finding police waiting for him.

According to court documents, Dionicio-Narcizo appeared Jan. 13 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to attempted sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony; and enticing a minor, a second-degree felony. As part of the deal, 10 remaining charges were dismissed.

According to prosecutors, Dionicio-Narcizo began chatting with an undercover officer from the Logan City Police Department in June. The officer was pretending to be the father of a young girl.

Dionicio-Narcizo messaged the officer and expressed a desire to meet in person for the purpose of sexually abusing the 9-year-old child. He continued to send messages describing in graphic detail how he wanted to rape the girl.

The undercover officer replied to the messages and offered to meet in person at a designated spot in Logan. He also requested that the defendant bring sour candy for the child as a gift.

On July 29, Dionicio-Narcizo was observed arriving at the appointed location in a vehicle registered in his name. He then sent a text to the undercover officer that he arrived.

Law enforcement immediately surrounded the car and took Dionicio-Narcizo into custody without incident. Inside the vehicle they found two bags of sour candy, a bottle of baby oil, and two cell phones.

While being questioned at the police department, Dionicio-Narcizo admitted to chatting with the undercover officer for the purpose of meeting up and raping the 9-year-old girl. He also confessed to viewing child pornography on his phone.

Dionicio-Narcizo is currently being held without bail. He is scheduled to be sentenced Mar. 3, and could face up to life in prison.
