LOGAN — A 60-year-old Logan man faces felony distribution charges after allegedly sending sexually explicit videos and taunting messages of his ex-girlfriend to her new partner over social media, according to law enforcement.
Rogelio Carreno was booked into the Cache County Jail on Aug. 30 by Logan City Police. He was arrested on suspicion of two third-degree felony counts of distributing pornographic material and two class A misdemeanor counts of distribution of an intimate image with a domestic violence enhancement.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, officers responded to a Logan residence Sunday evening after receiving a complaint from a 54-year-old man and his 36-year-old girlfriend. The male victim told police that Carreno—the woman’s former boyfriend—had sent him messages and two sexually explicit videos via Facebook Messenger from an account under the name “El Pato Carreno”.
In the translated Spanish text, Carreno allegedly taunted the man, claiming ownership over the woman, asserting she was sneaking off to see him, and offering the explicit videos as “proof”.
Investigators noted that the female victim was easily identifiable in both videos, which depicted explicit sexual acts. The woman told officers she had been in a relationship with Carreno for approximately three years before breaking up in October 2025. She confirmed that she had never given Carreno permission to share or distribute intimate videos of her.
Officers located Carreno at his residence shortly after receiving the report. According to police statements, he confirmed that the Facebook profile belonged to him and admitted to sending both the messages and the explicit videos to the victim. However, when questioned by officers regarding a motive, Carreno was unable to provide a reason for his actions.
Because Carreno and the female victim were previously in a romantic relationship, police designated the intimate image distribution charges as domestic violence offenses under Utah state law.
According to court records, Carreno was not booked into jail after being questioned. He has been ordered to appear in Logan’s 1st District Court for an initial appearance Oct. 19.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
