LOGAN — A 21-year-old Logan man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman this past fall, claiming he couldn’t stop himself, according to law enforcement. Ashton Cooper Robanske was booked Tuesday into the Cache County Jail.

According to an arrest affidavit, Logan City Police Officers were called to investigate a delayed sexual assault on Oct. 31. The alleged victim claimed Robanske, whom she had previously been in a relationship with, had sexually assaulted her while at his home on Sept. 18.

The woman explained how Robanske had forced himself on her, pinning her leg and arm down. He then began molesting her, as she reportedly told him “no” and to “stop.”

The alleged victim said Robanske reportedly apologized after the incident, sending her messages that he should not have done what he did. She also provided officers with Snapchat logs, corroborating her account of what happened, the probable cause outlined.

On Dec. 31, police questioned Robanske. He reportedly admitted that what he had done was wrong. He stated he could not control himself, and was scared now after what he did.

According to jail records, Robanske was booked on suspicion of committing object rape, a first-degree felony; and two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. He is being held without bail until he can be arraigned on formal charges in Logan’s 1st District Court.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
