LOGAN — A 24-year-old Logan man was arrested after allegedly barging into a home during a child custody dispute and taking a 3-year-old girl, according to law enforcement. Tristan Alejandro Reyes was booked temporarily into the Cache County Jail after the incident on Thursday, Nov. 23.

According to an arrest report, Logan City Police officers were called to a Logan home after the alleged victim reported Reyes had come into her home unlawfully and took the child. The woman and the suspect had been in a previous relationship.

The alleged victim told police, Reyes forced himself through the front door and pushed her down onto a couch. He then went upstairs to the child’s room, took the girl and left.

Officers located Reyes, who reportedly admitted to going into the woman’s house and pushing her out of the way to get to the child. The girl was returned to her mother unharmed.

According to jail records, Reyes was booked on suspicion of committing burglary, a second-degree felony; and misdemeanors for assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.

Reyes was released from jail after posting $13,500 bail. Formal charges are being screened by the Cache County Attorney’s Office.
