LOGAN — A 46-year-old Logan man appeared before a judge Monday after being arrested for allegedly exposing and touching himself at a North Logan gym. Alberto Maturano was briefly booked into the Cache County Jail in May after a victim reportedly captured a voice recording of him confessing to the incident inside the gym’s sauna.
Maturano made an initial appearance July 6 in Logan’s First District Court. He was charged with lewdness and voyeurism, both Class B misdemeanors. The charges stem from an incident on May 15.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim reported he stepped out of the gym’s sauna to get a drink of water. When he returned inside the sauna, Maturano had opened his towel, exposed himself, and was inappropriately touching himself. Maturano then allegedly asked the victim to join him.
Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage and check-in photos with the facility’s manager, allowing the victim to identify Maturano. After an initial police attempt to contact Maturano failed due to a disconnected phone number, the victim encountered him again at the Sports Academy on May 24.
During that second encounter, the victim confronted Maturano about the situation. Maturano confessed to the incident on a voice recording, which the victim captured and emailed to the police. Officers contacted and arrested Maturano at his Logan residence four days later.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
