LOGAN — A 46-year-old Logan man already facing multiple charges of sexual battery has been arrested again for allegedly urinating in front of three children. Eyasu Birhane Dirar was booked May 29 into the Cache County Jail.
According to an arrest affidavit, Logan City Police officers received a call claiming Dirar was seen urinating into the Little Logan River. He reportedly had long hair, and was wearing a grey sweater and black pants.
Police arrived on scene and located the suspect, later identified as Dirar. He reportedly did not speak English and had a heavy odor of alcohol coming from his person.
The three juveniles described how Dirar allegedly exposed himself to them while urinating in the small creek. He had fled the area on foot, walking west on 400 South, before being located by police.
According to court records, Dirar was charged with sexual battery, intoxication, interference with an arresting officer and other charges after a similar incident in August 2023. A warrant was later issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in court.
Dirar has now been charged with three counts of lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor; and public urination, an infraction. He is scheduled to appear again in court June 24.
According to booking records, Dirar is being held in jail without bail. He could face up to one year in jail, if convicted.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
