LOGAN — A 26-year-old Logan man has admitted to barging into a neighbor’s residence with a knife and threatening the occupants. Jimson Bididid Jitiam has been in the Cache County Jail since being arrested Dec. 31, 2023.

According to court records, Jitiam appeared for a preliminary hearing Monday, Mar. 4, in Logan’s 1st District Court. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to attempted aggravated burglary, amended to a second-degree felony; aggravated assault, a third-degree felony; and assault, a class A misdemeanor.

In exchange for Jitiam’s guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss five remaining charges.

Prosecutors report, on Dec. 31, law enforcement was called to the victim’s residence, after Jitiam had banged on the door and forced himself inside. He threatened the occupants with a knife while claiming that he was looking for his wife.

Jitiam was taken into custody for questioning. He later reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol before the incident.

During Monday’s court appearance, Judge Spencer Walsh accepted Jitiam’s plea agreement and ordered a presentence report about the defendant’s criminal history, to be completed by probation agents.

Court records show, Jitiam has multiple convictions for violating protective orders and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jitiam is being held in jail without bail. He is scheduled to be April 15 and could face up to 15 years in prison.
