LOGAN – City official here are reminding users of the Logan Landfill that a selective rate increase is scheduled to go into effect on Wednesday, July 1.
On that date, drivers of dual-axle trailers or trucks larger than three-quarters of a ton will face a $2 rate increase to dispose of general refuse, construction debris, tree stumps, soil and other materials.
The pending rate increase, from $38 per load to $40, was part of Resolution 24-26 (Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Fees) passed by the Logan Municipal Council on Aug. 6, 2024, according to officials of the Logan Environmental Department.
The rate increase will only affect vehicles that normally pay tonnage rather than the minimum tipping fee, they emphasize, meaning that the $15 flat fee for cars, pickup trucks and small single-axle trailers will not change.
Landfill users are also reminded that they should cover their loads to avoid the state-required $10 fee for uncovered loads.
The Logan Landfill is located on the city’s environmental campus at 153 North, 1400 West in Logan.
