LOGAN – Local residents and summer citizen visitors are being invited to a series of concerts in Logan on Wednesday evenings from June 19 through Aug. 31.

The free community concerts, being sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department of Logan City, have been dubbed the “alive AFTER 5” event series.

All of those gatherings will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza in downtown Logan.

Headlining the “alive AFTER 5” concert on Wednesday, June 19 will be pianist Kyra Moon.

On Wednesday, June 26 Wade Evans will introduce concert-goers to musical instruments of the world.

Fans of pop rock from the 1960s and 1970s can catch the Ravens band on Wednesday, July 10.

The “alive AFTER 5” concert on Wednesday, July 17 will feature the Duel ensemble with an unusual banjo vs. piano match-up.

On Wednesday, July 31, folk music artist Holly Conger will perform.

Fans of county-western music will appreciate the styling of the Katie Mathews Band on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The “alive AFTER 5” concert on Wednesday, Aug. 14 will feature a mix of Afro and blue-grass music by Pascal Boker.

The popular local band Wasatch Back will perform rock music on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Finally, the “alive AFTER 5” series will conclude on Saturday, Aug. 31 with a Latino music concert.

The concert schedule includes appropriate breaks for the Independence Day and Pioneer Day holidays on July 4 and July 24 respectively.

The Carol and Jim Laub Plaza is located at 55 North Main Street in downtown Logan.
