LOGAN – City officials here have tentatively scheduled a budget workshop to begin consideration of the Logan budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.

That budget discussion will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 in the Logan Municipal Council Chambers at City Hall.

The agenda for that workshop will feature a overview of general budgetary issues by Finance Director Richard Anderson, touching on fraud risk assessment and pay for performance issues.

Other workshop items to be discussed include employee contributions to the Utah Retirement System; a proposed salary schedule for city elected and executive officials; and budget transfers for FY2025.

The members of the Logan Municipal Council will also discuss a tentative certified property tax rate increase.

The council members will also hear budget presentations by city department heads including Russ Akina of Parks & Recreation; Nate Thompson of the Logan City Fire Department; and Mike DeSimone of Community Development.

The members of the Municipal Council also plan to adjourn and reconvene as the Logan Redevelopment Agency to hear a short presentation by Kirk Jensen of the Economic Development Department concerning the RDA budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.

The Logan City Hall is located at 290 North, 100 West in Logan.
