Official here have announced that the Logan Aquatic Center will be closed on weekdays through Sept. 5.

LOGAN – Effectively immediately, the Logan Aquatic Center will be closed to the public for open swimming Monday through Friday.

That announcement was made through a Facebook post on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Previously, the pool had been open to families from 12 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and 12 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

The Aquatic Center will now be open only on weekends, from 12 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sundays through Sept. 5.

The aquatic center will also be open on Labor Day, Sept. 5.

Most of the facility’s lifeguards are high school students who went back to area schools on Aug. 18, making it necessary to close the pool facility on weekdays, according to a park and recreation spokesperson.

When functioning normally, the aquatic center accommodates a capacity of approximately 1,800 people.

Its three pools hold 800,000 gallons of water.

They are a 50-meter, Olympic size, lap pool measuring 50 meters by 25 yards; a water slide well; and, a leisure/kiddy pool.

For questions about the Aquatic Center, residents are advised to call (435) 716-9250 or go online to #WeAreParksAndRec #loganutah
