Leland Woodrow (Woody) Palmer, Jr., the first born of Leland Woodrow Palmer, Sr. and Ruth Saunders, passed away at home from medical issues on Sunday, August 14, 2022. He was born on March 4, 1932 in Logan, Utah. He graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State University before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Scotland from 1962 – 1964. On July 31, 1964, in the Logan LDS Temple, Woody married his sweetheart, Ann Marie Forrester, who had waited impatiently two years for his return. He worked for Logan City Fire Department for 5 years. The rest of his career was in the telecommunications field, retiring in 2004. Woody and his wife served an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kayenta, AZ, serving the Navajo people. He and his wife served as ordinance workers in the Ogden and Brigham City Temples. He held many different callings in leadership, teaching, and he especially enjoyed working with the scouts and young men. He took his family on many trips and adventures, sharing with them his appreciation for the beauties and diversities of God’s creations. He loved to garden and share the bounties from his large garden, fruit trees, grapes and berry bushes.

Woody is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Shelly (Rob) Murphy; Carla (Shane) Larson; Steven (Emily) Palmer; Cathy (Curt) Maisey; Sharon (Stan) Nicholas; David (Esther) Palmer; son-in-law, Garon Patterson; 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Louise (Hal) Croft; Eldon (Annette) Palmer; Wayne (Debbie) Palmer; Annette (Craig) Smith; Mark (Mishelle) Palmer; sister-in-law, Ruth Palmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Becky Patterson; brother, Larry Palmer; and Larry’s first wife, Judy Forrester Palmer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 12th Ward, 139 E. 300 N.

Viewings will be held Thursday, August 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 S. Brigham City and at the church on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
