LOGAN – City officials here have announced that Monday, Feb. 17 will be the last chance for residents to ice skate at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza this season.
Due to the early onset of spring weather conditions, Logan officials have decided to close the ice skating rink in the Laub Plaza earlier than normal this season. The ice skating rink closed about two weeks later in 2024.
On its final day of operations, the ice rink will host skating sessions from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
During the week of Feb. 10 to 16, the rink will operate on its regular schedule.
Ninety-minute skating sessions will be offered on Monday through Friday of that week from 6 to 7:30 p.m and 8 to 9:30 p.m.
The schedule for Saturday, Feb. 15 will include 90-minute skating session starting from noon to 1:30 p.m; 2 to 3:30 p.m.; 4 to 5:30 p.m.; 6 to 7:30 p.m.; and 8 to 9:30 p.m.
The schedule for Sunday, Feb. 16 will be 90-minute skating sessions from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Equipment rental fees are $5 for ice skates, $3 for a skate trainer/walker and $1 for a helmet.
The ice skating rink’s schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
