Ladd Therald Quayle passed away due to congestive heart failure surrounded by his loving wife and family on March 28, 2022. He was born August 29, 1968 to Therald P. Quayle and Elizabeth Johnson Quayle in Ogden, Utah at the old Dee Hospital. Ladd loved his family and had a pure love and caring relationship with his mother that he adored.

Ladd attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1986 where he lettered in tennis. He valued his childhood friends that were by his side all throughout his life.

Ladd married Sharon Sampson and they later divorced. From their union were born his pride and joy, Cayden and Alyvia. Ladd’s most cherished time was spent being a dad and enjoying time with his family, boating and playing golf together. Ladd was a devoted father and always involved in his children’s activities whether he was driving, coaching, or feeding his children’s teammates. He was loved by his nieces and nephews and always made a fuss over them. He was a big kid at heart, not only did he participate in activities but made sure everyone was included. He adored his relationship with his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the countless memories they made together.

Ladd had an infectious personality, that trait combined with his love of people, made him a natural salesman. He had a gift of making friends with people from many different cultures. He enjoyed a career in the nutraceutical industry and maintained lifelong relationships with business partners in China.

On April 1, 2019, Ladd married his soulmate, Kristy Hughes. He has loved Kristy and her three children, Bailee, Stran and Chanel. Ladd and Kristy’s favorite pastime was travel. They traveled and explored Thailand, Philippines, Hawaii, California, Boston, and many short trips around the West. Kristy and Ladd sought out new restaurants throughout their travels. Ladd enjoyed cooking and exploring new recipes and was an artist in the kitchen with his favorite food being Asian. This marriage and family completed him. Although their time together was short, some of the happiest days of his life have been with Kristy and her family.

Ladd was born with a congenital heart defect. While his physical heart may have had limitations, his kind and caring heart beat strongly when it came to his family and friends. His circle of friends was large and given his love of people, he would strike a conversation with a total stranger and the next thing you knew he had a new friend. His ability to care about other people and connect with them was a trait he exemplified his whole life.

He is survived by his parents: Therald and Elizabeth Quayle; wife: Kristy and her three children: Bailee, (Jacob) Talley, Stran Davis, and Chanel Davis; his children: Cayden and Alyvia Quayle. In addition, he is also survived by his brothers: Mike (Susan) Quayle, Mark Quayle, Robert Quayle, and Cameron (Amanda) Quayle, and many nieces and nephews.
