Joaquin Patiño-Cervantes, a western cowboy who lived his life to the fullest. He had many joys and often did what he loved the most. This included being a part of nature and in the great outdoors. He loved being outside so much that he didn’t mind doing yard work for his family. Joaquin would spend his time hiking in the beautiful mountains of northern Utah and southern Idaho.

His many adventures included hiking, fishing, hunting, shooting, back horse riding, kayaking, tubing, camping, and spending time in the lakes and rivers around the area of his hometown of Lewiston, Utah.

At the age of 18,  he obtained his CDL license. Joaquin was working as a truck driver but his desire to learn new things led him to achieve his many certifications in welding, heavy equipment operator, auto collision, and he had his concealed firearm permit.

Joaquin was a gun enthusiast. He was a proud owner of a Benelli Super Nova 12 gauge and Marlin Model 60 22 long rifle.

Joaquin loved his family and friends, he was attentive with their needs and often checked up on everyone to see how they were doing. He enjoyed going to rodeos and staying up doing bonfires until 2 AM.

Joaquin was often found with his two brothers working on trucks and cars. They were an amazing team. You couldn’t see one without seeing the other two shortly after.

He was also a gentle giant.

Joaquin loved spending time with his nieces. He could often times be found playing horse and taking to them to the park.  He was the type of guy that would bring home flowers to surprise his sisters and mom.

Joaquin was caring and respectful towards his parents and was a perfect son.

Joaquin would visit his second home in Perry, which was owned by his brother, making himself comfortable by throwing his 380 Smith & Wesson, sunglasses, and wallet in his self-proclaimed spot on his brother’s toolbox. He didn’t need a special occasion to see his family, he would just go and visit.

Joaquin was FEARLESS. He was preparing his car for a demolition derby in the upcoming weeks and was scheduled to jump out of a plane later this summer.

Joaquin took life by its horns.

We are proud of the life that Joaquin led. His last accomplishment was his business, JPC Transport, LLC. He was ready to expand this summer and couldn’t wait to see it succeed.

He will forever be 21 and remembered by all.

We loved his perfect non smiling smile, how he always dressed up whenever he left his house, his comfortable hugs, and his kind presence that made you know you were safe with him.

Joaquin showed us how to live life to the fullest. He set the best example to everyone who met him. He was mature, and was wise beyond his years. We learned so much from Joaquin. We were truly blessed to have him be a part of our lives and we are honored that he choose us to be his family.

We know that Joaquin will forever keep his family safe, in this life and in the next.
