LOGAN – Chad Ford, an international conflict mediator who has worked with peacemakers on both sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict, is a new associate professor of religious studies at Utah State University.

Ford is a BYU graduate who comes from BYU-Hawaii and he is now teaching courses in the USU Religious Studies Program as well as certificates offered through the Heravi Peace Institute.

After he earned a master’s degree in conflict analysis and resolution at George Mason University he earned a law degree at Georgetown and then he became a sports journalist, covering the NBA.

Searching for ways to merge his passions he joined a nonprofit called Peace Players to bring Israelis and Palestinians together through the game of basketball.

Ford is among new faculty invigorating the Heravi Peace Institute’s offerings to create certificates in conflict management, global peace building and interfaith leadership.
