LOGAN – InTech Collegiate Academy in Logan has been named one of five Utah schools recognized as State Finalists in the 15th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM competition. The program highlights innovative STEM projects designed to address critical community issues, and State Finalists each earn a $2,500 Samsung technology prize pack to support their efforts.
Joining InTech Collegiate Academy as Utah State Finalists are Northwest Middle School and West High School, both in Salt Lake City; Tooele High School in Tooele; and, Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers in West Jordan.
InTech Collegiate Academy is a Logan-based charter school specializing in advanced STEM education.
The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition engages middle and high school students nationwide in creating STEM-based solutions to issues ranging from climate change to mental health and school safety. This year’s competition features emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and 3D printing in 60% of the projects.
The next phase of the competition requires State Finalists to develop detailed activity plans outlining their projects, with submissions due by January 9. Fifty State Winners will then be chosen, each receiving $12,000 in technology and advancing toward a chance at the national stage. In April, three National Winners will be selected, each earning a $100,000 prize package as part of a $2 million prize pool.
