LOGAN — A Franklin, Idaho man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a new motorcycle from a Logan dealership, where he was previously employed, according to law enforcement. Edward George Flesher Jr. was booked May 25 into the Cache County Jail after the $12,000 bike was found at his home by Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Logan City Police officers were dispatched to Young Powersports on report of a 2024 KTM 690 that was stolen. The motorcycle was believed to have been taken between May 1 and May 5 by Flesher, who recently decided to leave the company.
Employees at the dealership explained how Flesher had been a bike technician, and knew how to remove the motorcycle from the property without being caught on camera. They also claimed he had the ability to remove technology which would disable the motorcycle in case it was stolen.
Police entered the bike into a national database. They also requested the assistance from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, who traveled to Edward’s home and found the stolen motorcycle, the arrest paperwork detailed.
Flesher could not provide proof of purchasing the bike. He claimed an unknown man had given him the bike, asking him to work on it. Law enforcement were unable to confirm any records identifying the man.
According to jail records, Flesher was booked on suspicion of committing theft of a motor vehicle, a second-degree felony. He was later released, pending arraignment of formal charges in Logan’s 1st District Court.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
