LOGAN — Hyrum City officials are joining several other valley communities limiting the discharge of personal fireworks strictly to Independence Day and further restricting where they can be ignited.

According to an updated firework restrictions map released by the city, private fireworks are permitted only on Saturday, July 4. This marks a significant tightening from the standard statewide holiday window, which typically allows discharges over a multi-day period.

Officials have established a single, tight perimeter for legal fireworks use. Discharges are permitted only within the following city grid:

  • Between 300 South and 300 North
  • From 400 West to 800 East

The city has designated all surrounding border areas, mountain benches, and agricultural lands as high-risk zones. The city emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for these regions, stating there is to be no discharge of any fireworks in any of the red areas.

Municipal leaders reminded residents that these specific regulations apply exclusively within Hyrum city limits. Because fire risks and rules vary across the region, community members are instructed to look up neighboring municipal guidelines and Cache County ordinances before lighting any fireworks.
