BOX ELDER COUNTY — A head-on collision Wednesday sent two people to the hospital with severe injuries. The crash was reported at 6:22 a.m. at 2800 West SR-13, east of Corrine.

According to Utah Highway Patrol troopers, a 2013 Toyota Corolla was travelling east and being driven by a 34-year-old woman from Brigham City. She reportedly drove into the opposite lane of travel (westbound lane) and smashed into the front of a 2021 Ford Mustang, driven by a 41-year-old man from Brigham City.

Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles by emergency crews.

The woman was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to an area hospital with very serious injuries. The man was also transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

Troopers closed a portion of SR-13 in both directions for approximately two hours while crews cleared and investigated the crash.
