PRESTON, Idaho — A 23-year-old man died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 91 north of Preston, according to the Idaho State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. near mile marker 13. Investigators said a 22-year-old man, from Cumming, Georgia, was driving a 2005 Toyota Highlander southbound when he went off the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to roll over a guardrail.
The 23-year-old passenger, also from Cumming, Georgia, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Emergency responders transported the driver by ground ambulance to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. Authorities confirmed both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Fire Department assisted Idaho State Police, who are continuing to investigate the incident.
