PRESTON – The Franklin County Republican Party will observe Lincoln Day 2025 by hosting former U.S. Rep. Chris Stewart, UT-District 2, as their guest speaker at 7 p.m. on Feb. 22.
Similar to the 2024 appearance by media personality Glenn Beck, that event is slated to take place at the Dahle Performing Arts Center in nearby Dayton, Idaho.
“Help us celebrate our American heritage and patriotism with a true statesman,” says Todd Thomas, the chairman of the Franklin County Republican Central Committee.
Chris Stewart is an American politician, author and businessman who served as the U.S. Representative for Utah’s 2nd Congressional District from 2013 to 2023.
Stewart was born in Logan and grew up on a dairy farm in Cache Valley. He graduated from Sky View High School in 1978 and earned a degree in economics from Utah State University in 1984.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Stewart became a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, flying both jets and helicopters.
He later became the CEO of the Shipley Group, a company based in Bountiful that offered training and consulting to help clients comply with federal environmental laws.
Stewart is also known as a bestselling author for having penned Seven Miracles that Saved America and The Miracle of Freedom: Seven Tipping Points that Saved the World as well as his series The Great and Terrible.
Lincoln Day is an annual celebration by the Republican Party, normally reserved for fundraising at county level. Honoring one of the founders of the Republic Party, it is usually held around Feb. 12, the date of Lincoln’s birth.
A special VIP event is also scheduled at 6 p.m. on Feb. 22, just prior to Stewart’s remarks.
Tickets for the VIP event are $50 per person. Tickets for Stewart’s speech are $20 per person or $30 per couple.
