LOGAN — Fire crews with the Logan Ranger District are conducting a prescribed burn of approximately 2,100 acres near Ephraim’s Grave. The operation began Friday, producing visible smoke above Logan Canyon at times.

Crews have closed several mountain roads in the area, including parts of Temple Fork and Long Hollow roads. Portions of the Elk Valley Divide, Ephraims Cutoff, and Nebeker Springs trails are also closed.

Officials with the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest said the controlled burn is part of the Blacksmith Fork project area. The public should be aware that the area will be closed for several days for safety. Officials are asking all visitors to watch for warning signs along roads near the burn area before and during the operation.
