LOGAN – The last of the concerts in the Logan Tabernacle for the season ended Thursday and Carol Foht was honored by the Cache Community Connections for her work on the Noon Interfaith Concert Series on Wednesday.
Wayne Dymock, a member of Cache Community Connections as the Bear River Communication Council for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, presented a gift basket to Foht. The basket was from Cox Honeyland.
Carol Foht records was rewarded for her work on the Interfaith Noon Concert Series at the Historic Logan Tabernacle on Wednesday Wednesday July 30, 2025.
“We thought it was appropriate to give her something for being there every day and running an outstanding program for our community,” Dymock said. “She has organized 53 concerts and lectures this summer. We are fortunate to have her.”
He said she loves planning the weekly programs and she is already planning for next year. Foht has people apply all the time and she is picky about those who she allows to perform. She wants it to be entertaining for the audience.
“The concerts are not only for the summer citizens, it is also for the locals,” he said. “She has reached out to improve attendance and people have responded. We are seeing more and more of them attend.”
Not only are the concerts a great form of entertainment, they are free. They are held in an air-conditioned, beautiful historic building, what more could you want, Dymock asked.
“People here for the summer keep coming back for the concerts,” he said. “The Chamber of Commerce tells us the concerts and lectures are a big draw for Summer Citizens. They love it.”
Foht connects with people in her own way, and she drafts greeters for both the local community and the summer citizen community. That is a big reason they keep coming back.
The Fohts moved to Cache Valley 11 years ago from Dubuque, Iowa to be closer to her daughter and has been a part of CCC for five years. She just finished her fourth year of leading the Noon Interfaith Concert Series and the Christmas Noon Concert Series.

One of the final performances for the season at at the Historic Logan Tabernacle on Wednesday Wednesday July 30, 2025.
“We came here to be closer to our daughter in 2014.”
As a devout Catholic she wondered about moving to Cache Valley and being in the middle of a place where the predominate religion the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“We have great LDS neighbors, and we have great friends,” Foht said. “When we moved here, we wanted to become involved in the community. I got involved in a women’s group ‘Circle of Friends’ as a way to meet people.”
Then she met Sharon West. West and her husband Richard who were a part of CCC. They convinced her to go to the noon concert series.
“I didn’t think a Catholic could go into the Tabernacle,” Foht said. “She got me there and later I was asked to take over the Tabernacle events. It’s been a gift for me to be able to do it. I get so much out of working with great local performers.”
She said she loves doing it and was very thankful she was asked.
“If there is anything I hope for in the community it would be that people would come and get involved in the concerts. It’s an opportunity to meet people with different backgrounds,” she added. “We don’t know people until we talk to them. We have all these preconceived notions about people until we talk to them and we find out about them.”
Carol and her husband are greeters every Sunday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
“In our parish we see a lot of summer citizens and we get to know them,” she said. “It’s another inroad to getting to know other people.”
She said the talent in the area is amazing and the bar is getting higher for people who want to perform.

Thursday was the final performance of the season at the Historic Logan Tabernacle on Wednesday Wednesday July 30, 2025.
“People expect a good concert and it we do leave people out,” she said. “The talent here is remarkable I think it is the LDS culture. They encourage the arts and for a big part it is expected of them and that makes a big difference.”
Foht is planning the Christmas Noon Interfaith Concert Series in November.
