LOGAN — A 56-year-old Orlando, Florida man has been booked into jail on allegations of sexting with a Cache County Sheriff’s deputy, posing as a 10-year-old girl. Satish Kumar Pilla was briefly booked into the Cache County Jail on Wednesday, after a warrant for his arrest was issued by a judge in November 2024.
According to the warrant affidavit, Pilla began sending messages to an undercover deputy in September 2024. The deputy had created a Snapchat profile, depicting a young girl.
Pilla originally told the deputy he was a 20-year-old man, living in Dallas, Texas. He asked the supposed girl to participate in a “biology experiment,” directing her to inappropriately touch herself.
The messages reportedly continued with Pilla allegedly sending several videos of his groin and genitals. He also asked the undercover deputy to send naked pictures of herself, the warrant described.
The deputy noted in their investigation that Pilla’s messages were “highly predatory and disturbing in nature.” They received a warrant and were able to track the Snapchat account to an IP address at the suspect’s residence.
According to court records, the Cache County Attorney’s Office filed a criminal case against Pilla in Logan’s 1st District Court. They charged him with one count of enticing a minor, a second-degree felony; and four counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, a third-degree felony.
Pilla is currently out of jail on pre-trial supervision. He has hired an attorney and could face up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
