LOGAN — Multiple local fire agencies swiftly extinguished a small grass and tree fire in east of Paradise on Wednesday afternoon, preventing further spread amid high fire danger conditions.
According to emergency radio communications at the time, the fire was reported just after 1 p.m. near 1524 E. 8800 S. A caller told 911 dispatch operators that they had clipped a rock causing a spark.
First crews to arrive on the scene reported the fire being pushed by winds. It was not threatening any structures.
Teams from the Paradise Fire Department, Cache County Fire District, Hyrum Fire Department, and the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands responded to the blaze. Arriving units located the fire burning through vegetation and quickly contained the flames before they could spread across the dry landscape.
One individual was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Following the successful joint response, the Cache County Fire District issued a public safety reminder. Officials are urging residents and visitors to exercise extreme caution while working or recreating outdoors this summer due to elevated fire risks across the region.
