RICHMOND — Fire fighters were called to extinguish a trailer fire Thursday morning that displaced a family. The blaze was reported around 7:25 a.m. at 276 North State Street in Richmond, south of the Richmond Cemetery.

According to emergency radio traffic, one of the occupants called 911, reporting the fire started in a bedroom where children were playing with a lighter. The family was able to get out safely and several nearby mobile homes were also evacuated as a precaution.

Fire fighters arrived on the scene and reported a lot of smoke coming from the trailer. They were able to quickly locate the fire and extinguish it within 10 minutes.

There was no reports of any injuries or damage to nearby trailers.

The amount of damage to the trailer and the cause of the fire have not been confirmed yet.

A Cache County Victim’s Advocate responded and joined neighbors in helping the displaced family.
